The Circular Economy embodies the popular saying “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure”. It is an economy in which there is no waste because everything finds a new life. Contrary to the traditional linear model extraction-production-use-waste, the Circular Economy works in a loop, where waste is recycled and reused in the production process of new products.
The Ellen Mac Arthur Foundation defines a circular economy as a regenerative process in which matter is made of two types of nutrients: the biological nutrients that are going back to the biosphere and the technical nutrients that are designed to be reprocessed and used again. Another similar concept in the product design is the cradle to cradle model. Learn more at: https://www.epea.com/cradle-to-cradle/
